What's New in Chamberly: August 2026
August was about the back office: QuickBooks Online sync, order alerts that reach the right person, sign-in links that survive corporate spam filters, and sponsorships that expire on their own.

If July was about selling (sales attribution and in-kind sponsorships), August was about everything that happens after the sale. Three releases went out this month, and most of what changed lives in places your sponsors will never see: your books, your inbox, and your storefront's inventory.
Here's the rundown. As always, the full detail lives on the changelog.
QuickBooks Online sync (v1.9.0, August 27)
This is the big one, and it was the most requested feature from chamber bookkeepers by a wide margin. Until now, getting sponsorship revenue into QuickBooks meant exporting a CSV at month end and importing it, or re-keying invoices by hand. Both work. Neither is anyone's favorite afternoon.
Now you connect your QuickBooks company once and the books follow your orders:
- Every committed order becomes a QuickBooks invoice, numbered INV-#, with one line per sponsorship, coded to your sponsorship income account.
- Online payments post automatically as payments applied to that invoice the moment Stripe confirms them. Reservation orders post when you mark them paid.
- Refunds and cancellations flow through too. A refund posts as a refund receipt, and a cancellation voids the invoice. The ledger moves in both directions.
- Setup is a few clicks. Pick your accounts once (Chamberly suggests matches from your chart of accounts), then backfill past orders in one click.
- Problems show up in plain English. If QuickBooks rejects something, you'll see it in an issue list with a retry button instead of a cryptic error code.
Two details worth knowing. In-kind sponsorships never post to QuickBooks, because they aren't cash revenue. And the QuickBooks CSV export is still there for chambers whose accountant prefers to review a file before anything touches the ledger.
Why it matters: sponsorship revenue is often one of the biggest lines in a chamber's budget, and it's also the one most likely to be a month behind in the books. When your treasurer asks where sponsorships stand, the answer should be "look at QuickBooks," not "let me pull a report."
Smarter order notifications and sign-in reliability (v1.8.0, August 18)
Two quality-of-life fixes that came straight from chamber teams:
- Order notifications go to the assigned staff member. Previously a new sponsorship order alerted the whole team. On a busy week, that meant five people getting the same email and each assuming someone else handled it. Now the alert goes to the person responsible.
- Magic links survive corporate email scanners. Many banks, hospitals, and larger employers run security tools that "click" every link in an incoming email to check it. That quietly used up one-time sign-in and invite links before the recipient ever saw them, which looked to your sponsor like a broken link. Those links now hold up.
- A redesigned confirmation page when someone follows an emailed sign-in link, so it's clear what happened and where to go next.
If you've ever had a sponsor from a large company tell you "the link doesn't work," this release was for you.
Automatic sponsorship expiry (v1.7.1, August 7)
Small release, noticeable effect. Past monthly sponsorships and sponsorships tied to events that already happened now expire automatically instead of lingering on your storefront. Nobody wants to see a "Sponsor our March luncheon" card in August, and nobody on staff should have to remember to take it down.
Stale inventory doesn't just look sloppy. It makes a storefront feel unmaintained, and sponsors notice. Clearing it automatically keeps what's for sale current, which keeps sponsors clicking.
What we're working on next
September is shaping up to be about onboarding: making it easier for members to get into their accounts, easier for staff to help them, and faster to move data in from wherever it lives today. We'll recap it here at the start of October.
If there's something you'd like to see on the list, send us a note. The roadmap follows real chamber problems, and several of this month's changes started as one-line emails from chamber staff.
New to Chamberly? You can poke around a live demo chamber in the Playground, or book a walkthrough and we'll show you the QuickBooks sync with your own chart of accounts in mind.
